Hi
Any recommendations of what ammunition best suits a steyr SSG-P 308 for
target?
Reasonable price.
The accuracy card used HP Match 12.3g but having trouble trying to find that
on the net.
Looking for good and readily available.
Cheers

Let's see now. You want good, readily available, and reasonable price.
What's a reasonable price? Depends on what it is maybe. Sako ammo is
good, it isn't cheap but obviously some people think it's reasonably
priced even if it is expensive. Radway Green is reasonably priced, but
it isn't good IMO.

How much are you prepared to pay, let's start there. And what distance
are you shooting over? Target or game? Also, what twist rate does your
barrel have. (And why aren't you hand loading anyway? :)

All good points.
Just trying to get a feel for what you can pick ammo up for.
Seems from what I've seen it goes 50-70p a round. Got that from the HPS site
and Bisley.
The stuff I have at the mo' is the very cheap SA R1M1 packs but got that for
less precission days if that makes sence.
So was looking for something for target out to 500 and hopefully beyond when
I get the chance.
But to your loading point. Thinking about that.
Waiting for my next outing to pick brains about that. Do you need a
variation on your licence for that or can you just pop out and buy it all?
NO not thinking of using it without instruction!
Oh it's 1 turn in 12 inches.
On that point any good sites (simple'ish) that intro the effect of different
twists, bullet stabilisation and from what I've heard the round corkscrews
down the range, not spins in a straight line. So would like to learn
something about that as well. Unless you can think of a good book.
As you can tell I'm new to this.
Cheers BB

Hello BB,

Try Steve Riciardelli's website there is a wealth of information on there on
reloading both shotgun and rifle ammunition. Look under the "artridges and
reloading" links page on my website at www.kwacs.org.uk

Hope this helps
